As cariocas (people who were born in Rio de Janeiro) call it, this is the "Wonderful City" (cidade maravilhosa) - or rather, a part of it. This is the view as I left the city on a 737 airplane yesterday, on my way to Curitiba for a geography fieldtrip. More photos are to come. Canon 7D.
Hi there! I'm here to bring you this critique as a part of 's event
First thing I'd like to say is...I LOVE IT The nice smooth feeling from the colours and misty-ness in this piece instantly makes me feel calm and want to take an even longer look at this picture! Seeing as how you were on a plane too, it's great that there is no blurriness and that you were able to capture the scenery from such a wonderful perspective with a most filling composition
I honestly don't know HOW this piece could be improved, but maybe change the lighting (or unchange the lighting, if you did any adjustments to it at all before uploading) of the picture so as to make the top left and bottom right of the picture less contrasting. Mainly because this is a scenery picture and, to me, should give off more of a calm and serene feeling (which it already is, mind you!), but if the colours were even more equal, it'd make the effect that much nicer!
So yea...not much to say about such a stunning piece already! Keep up the good work and I'm hoping to be able to visit cariocas one day and see this for myself!
Hello! First of all, I let you know that this critique will enter the #FeedbackFrenzy's comment contest This picture is wonderful! It really captured my eyes, it's just amazing I really like both the composition and the perspective. We have an incredible point of view of the city, it looks enormous and yet we can see all of it, as well as the beautiful landscape of sea and mountains that surrounds it. The quality is awesome too, there is no grain nor blurriness, and this is incredible in a shot like this one! But the colours are the most powerful thing of the shot, in my opinion. The blue and green tones look gorgeous together and they suit this picture very well, they almost make the scenery look unreal. This wat all the city seems, indeed, even more wonderful, and this hue gives a special touch to that majestic scape too You left me without critiques as well! I don't know how this could have been any better, it's perfect the way it is. I feel like I'm looking at a wondrous view of a magical land, all looks great: the green sea blending with the sky, the clouds enclosing the further mountains, and the city on the shore as well! Very well done! Keep up with the great work, your pictures are truly wonderful!
I've recently watched the Blue Sky Animation-movie "Rio" for the first time. And I was like ZOMG. I'd seen your gallery and was like: This must be the most beautiful place (/one of the most beautiful places?) in the world! 8D
"Lemme take you to Rio, Rio Fly over the ocean like an eagle, eagle So we can chill in my gazebo, gazebo, oooh-oooh-oooohhh....." ^_^
That movie was nice. Rio is really absolutely beautiful, stay tuned for more pictures (probably from next month on), as I visit and photograph the main touristic attractions in my spare time!
I always look at new pictures you put up, even when I don't comment They are so beautiful. And how you get those views - but I saw in the movie how you can get up on there on the mountains - uh.. if that is for real :333
Aw, thank you! It's so nice to hear that. I get most of my views when I travel, from the airplane, but we do have some spectacular views from our mountains too.
I would rather live in Germany. The views are great and all, but the temperatures are waaay too hot all year round (up to 42ºC in the Summer, "feeling like" 55ºC), and poverty, drug trafficking and violence are still a problem.
